Frank Taaffe, sole friend and defender of George Zimmerman, arrested for DUI
I know this is shocking news, folks, but there it is. The self-appointed leader of Truth and Freedom and Stand-Up Guys was arrested on July 28, 2012 for DUI. The guy who revels in his notoriety was cooling his heels in the hoosgow in Seminole County after being arrested by the Lake Mary Police. George Zimmerman’s most public friend and supporter has shown his true colors.
I am sure that F. Taaffe was just defending himself against the bottle of Jim Beam or whatever, but after he finished it off, he was arrested just the same. A problem with alcohol certainly explains Frank’s apparent anger management problem that has been discussed both here and elsewhere in detail.
I sincerely hope that F. Taaffe seeks help before he hurts someone else. His behavior at this blog as well as this most recent arrest are very troubling. He has exhibited very poor judgment of late, and as he said here mere days before his arrest, there is more notoriety to come. Indeed, it seems it has.
And I don’t know what y’all think, but to me, this guy looks SUSPICIOUS. Will George Zimmerman start profiling old white guys now when he’s watching the neighborhood? How telling that this is the type of person who steps forward as Zimmerman’s only friend.
Aaaaagh! I understand reporting on his arrest, but why post his ugly mugshot? The moment I saw that, I threw my iPad across the room. I wish no one the horror I felt when I saw his face… Not even my own worst enemy,

Just goes to their mindset. Its ok to drink and drive and possibly kill someone on the road and or street, but not ok to walk back from a store while carrying snacks minding your own business.

Sorry, what? I didn’t post anything about GZ’s “gay website”. Do you think I hacked the Seminole County Sheriff’s site and posted an unflattering photo of F. Taaffe there? Get a grip.
My bad! There was a story from this same site(different author,though)that said GZ was found by the FBI to have gay black porn on his computer.And that story burned up on twitter all day yesterday and today.Just thought this was the same as tgat.Sorry!,i was wrong!Good scoop,BTW,as you were the first to break this hours ago! No problem, I can’t blame you at all for being careful about what internet stories you do and do not believe. I knew it was true, but I also knew that people wouldn’t believe it until someone else reported it, too.
I have to say though that nobody here posted the GZ/porn story. I don’t know where that came from; maybe a blog with a similar name. But there is no way I’d post it without confirming it.

Yes, the story wasn’t anywhere else this morning, hence the problem finding the information. The original information was at the Seminole County Sheriff’s office website. I had confirmation from a completely separate source.
Yes, im curious as to your source since you broke this at least 12 hours before ANYONE else and then no one else reported it on..and even still only been several tweets and Global Grind picked up on it…..
I do wonder who your source is……….must be better than Darlene Jones’s on twitter. Interesting. And the gay porn rumor was started by ‘Arrest Shellie Zimmerman’ page or ‘Arrest George Zimmerman’ on FB. That page routinely makes up stories…just an fyi.
I don’t want to go all Woodward and Bernstein on anyone about my source, but I truly cannot reveal it for a number of reasons. Those reasons are much more important to me personally than it was to prove that I did, in fact, know about this before anyone else. In addition, it was just pure, unadulterated luck that I had the information. Taaffe and Trayvon Martin are not the usual focus of this blog by a long shot. But when I wrote the Taaffe slam post aeons ago, I started getting emails and comments from all sorts of people, including F. Taaffe himself. I hope you understand why I cannot say where the info came from, but yes, it would be difficult to have a better source.
Global Grind knew about it from my blog, because I posted a link at the JFTM Facebook page. However, GG rarely provides external links to other blogs. Someone from GG fed it to the reporter in Atlanta, and she confirmed it and ran with it. I’m glad she was able to talk to F. Taaffe and confirm the story. The whole thing was very interesting to watch unfold yesterday…the evolution of an internet story.

If i didn’t know better, I would say that he is an accomplice to the TM murder! I wouldn’t put it past him. He is a racist monster who beat his wife and kids.
This is in keeping with everything surrounding Zimmerman, his anger and legal issues prior to the murder of Trayvon Martin, and the murder itself: just as Zimmerman had his mixture of Adderall and Temazepam stirred in with his pathologies – his expressed paranoia, frustration, anger, etc. – so it seems natural that the trash rushing unreasonably to the defense of this child-murderer would also be intoxicated menaces to society.

I totally agree. I had long suspected a substance-abuse contributor to Taaffe’s flashpoint anger and bizarro interviews. The fact that Zimmerman surrounds himself with such human detritus tells us pretty much all we need to know about his thought processes. O’Mara must be pooping right now.

So does the fact that GZ is BEST friends with a guy who has somewhat of a similar history of violence have any effect on GZ’s character or case?
Good question. I don’t know if any of this will affect Zimmerman directly. I just can’t stand F. Taaffe, hence my original post way back when.
